Richard Schneck, SJ, is currently Profesor de Sagrada Escrita en la Universidad Católica del Ecuador, where he has taught since 1980. He was ordained as a Roman Catholic priest on June 10, 1972 and has earned an M.A. from Gonzaga University in 1969, an M.S.T. from the Jesuit School of Theology at Berkeley in 1973, an S.T.L. from the same school in 1985 and a Doc. Theol. from the Universidad Javeriana in Bogotá, Colombia in 1993. He also taught New Testament at Seminario Regional de Veracruz from 1976 to 1980.
